Proverbs 4:7 tells us “Wisdom is the principle thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” It helps to realize that wisdom is another name for the Word of God. Where true wisdom exists you’ll find complete alignment with the Word and the character of God. If you’re seeking after the highest and best things, wisdom needs to be at the top of the list. God tells you to ask for wisdom. When you do, He has promised to give it to you freely. Look at the rest of the book of Proverbs to see what wisdom brings you. For starters, Proverbs 3:16 says, “Length of days (long life) is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor.” Given those free bonus gifts, you might want to make wisdom your first request.

WORDS OF LIFE:

  • I eagerly seek God’s wisdom in every part of my life. I hold nothing back.
  • I trust that God will give me wisdom whenever I ask for it.
  • By faith I receive the ability to recognize God’s wisdom and put it into immediate action.

Word of the Day

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. (NLT)
